River Rafting Float
Dramatic sandstone walls rise above you as you float the gentle waters of Horsethief and Ruby Canyons. Camp in tents or under the stars to enjoy the desert sky. Because you won’t see roads on this section of the river, you can hike on trails that are accessible only by the river – a true backcountry setting.
This trip is for people interested in a relaxed pace, or a person who would enjoy hiking remote beautiful side canyons. You can watch for bald eagles, swim in the Colorado River, jump off cliffs or just plain relax. This calm section of river makes for the perfect escape from the anxiety of everyday life. Gentle water with occasional Class I-II rapids, this section can be enjoyed by any age and skill level.
Our participants are encouraged to learn to read the river, take a turn at the oars, and paddle the inflatable kayaks. These activities are optional and offered to anyone that wants to give them a try. With mild rapids, this is the perfect trip to get the hang of maneuvering a vessel.
