New for 2026! New for 2026! Camping is moving to town! Due to renovations, there is no camping at the ranch. The start/finish lines for the bike races and the Pro/Open awards will begin at the High Lonesome Ranch on Saturday. All other festivities will be in the town of DeBeque, this includes Friday night registration & pasta dinner, camping/glowstick bonfire, age group awards and Sunday morning's half marathon.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Rocky Mountains the half marathon runs right out of the town of DeBeque This isn’t just a race—it’s a full weekend of adventure and celebration! Runners will enjoy a country cookout, campfires, live local music, and camping accommodations. It’s the perfect blend of rugged terrain and western hospitality, complete with a lively hoedown to round out the weekend.
The fun kicks off with the Wild Horse Gravel bike races on Saturday, followed by the gravel run on Sunday, offering a one-of-a-kind chance to explore this hidden gem of a location.

Celebrate Wild Horse Gravel weekend with a party in DeBeque!
Friday, the gravel pre-ride will roll out at 5:00 PM from the DeBeque Community Center. Come ride, relax, and celebrate with the gravel community before race day!
Join us Saturday night for packet pick-up and a whole lot of fun in downtown DeBeque. Minter Avenue will be alive with Live Music, Food Trucks, Camp Trivia, Glowstick Bonfire/S'mores and Prizes (BYOB).
The Wild Horse Challenge is a two-day test of grit and endurance. Riders take on any distance of Saturday’s gravel bike events—Mustang, Gunslinger, or Hoedown—and then lace up for the Fruita Trail Half Marathon on Sunday.
Finishers of the Wild Horse Challenge will receive a special memento to celebrate their accomplishment. After Sunday’s half marathon, we’ll host a special awards gathering to recognize all participants.
This isn’t about ranking or placing, it’s about celebrating every athlete who takes on this incredible feat of endurance.
Finisher’s mementos will be handed to you as you cross the finish line and awards will be given out for the top 3 age group placers. Don’t miss out on a chance to win raffle prizes and socialize with other runners!
Men’s and Women’s overall winners of each distance will receive comp entries to next year’s races.
Customized cowbell awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each race for the following age groups:
- Under 20
- 20-29
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50-59
- 60+
Racers will also receive finisher awards as they cross the finish line. Awards and mementos will not be mailed after the event.

Are Dogs Allowed?
We love dogs! High Lonesome Ranch has a strict no pets policy and they are not allowed on the premises. Please leave them at home- they will still love you when you return!
Where is the closest camping/lodging?
There will be free tent and RV camping available at the DeBeque Community Center in De Beque, CO, just a 20 minute drive from the start/finish area.

Camping: Spots are first come, first served — no reservations needed, and there’s plenty of space for everyone.
- Camper Parking: There is plenty of camper parking around town, near the festivities.

Indoor Sleeping: A large gym will also be open for community-style sleeping, so you can simply bring a sleeping bag if you’d prefer not to set up a tent.

Hotels: The closest hotels are in Parachute, CO, about a 30-minute drive from the ranch.
- Glamping: Private camping and glamping options are available at www.kampalampa.com , just minutes from the town of DeBeque. Tell them you are with Wild Horse Gravel for a 10% discount (spots are limited).

You can set up your camping as early as 2:00 PM on Friday and you will need to be out by 1:00 PM on Sunday.
Pro tip: Bring earplugs to ensure a good night’s sleep in the shared space!
Can I Go Off Road?
Racers must stay on the designated course. Shortcutting will result in a disqualification. If you go off course, you must return to the same point you exited in order to continue.
What Weather Should I Expect?
The weather in De Beque CO can vary. The averages for May are a low of 48 degrees and a high of 79 degrees Fahrenheit. While the weather is never a sure thing, you can typically expect highs of between 70-80 degrees with very little chance of rain during this time of year.
What About Unforeseeable Circumstances?
In the case of unforeseeable circumstances due to weather or other extenuating circumstances that prevents the safe continuation of the race, race officials may end the race at any given time without a refund of unused portions. This rule will be implemented in the most extreme cases for the safety of the riders or officials.
I Lost Something at the Event! Is There a Lost & Found?
Items left at Aid Stations and lost & found items will be available at the Awards Ceremonies.
What Other Activities Are There at High Lonesome Ranch?
Check the schedule! We will have free demos for fly fishing, roping, goat tying and barrel racing. Horseback riding will be available for a fee. There will be a full service bar and food truck meals available to purchase food and drinks over the weekend.
Can I cancel my Registration?
There will be no entry transfers. If you regrettably need to cancel your registration, please use BikeReg. Cancellations are given credit of their registration payment toward any Gemini Adventures event within one year’s time, minus at 15% fee.
What’s our Refund Policy?
30 Days or more prior to the Event: 85% credit of registration fee (excluding BikeReg fees).
Less than 30 days prior to the Event: No refunds or credit given.
Credits may be applied to any future Gemini Adventures race and will be valid for 12 months.
Registered runners may also switch between distances. No refunds or credit will be given for dropping down in distance. If stepping up in distance, the added current pricing of the longer distance will be charged (excluding BikeReg fees).
To request credits, log in to your BikeReg account, and go to Registration History. Select Edit for the event, and scroll to the bottom of the page where Cancel Registration is linked. Follow the prompts.
