More about Genevieve:

Hi! My name is Genevieve Harrison.  I live in Eagle, Colorado with my husband, Jon, and my two kids, Coco (2) and Ocean (4). I have been running since I was in the 5th grade, when I was day-dreaming about being the youngest Ironman in Kona, Hawaii. I went on to join the USA junior triathlon team in highschool.  I spent my college years farming vegetables and traveling as much as I could but always had running as part of my morning ritual. Since having kids, I have decided to get after running a little differently. More competitively, more fully, more freely. I am now a professional runner for the On Trail Team and a running coach for Team Run Run.

The last few years my journey has taken me closer to one of my post-kid goals: racing with the best of the best at UTMB Mont Blanc! After finishing 2nd at the Leadville Trail 100 in 2021 and taking 1st at UTMB Puerto Vallarta 180k in 2022, my 2023 will take me to France for the big dance!

What inspires me even more than the landscapes we, as runners, get to travel is seeing people succeed in meeting their goals or crossing finish lines. And I absolutely love sharing my knowledge, passion, and experiences to help others on their journeys.

I’m excited you’ve chosen to make this event part of your journey- the Gemini crew is sure to make it a good time! I love this sport and the people in it.

5 Quick Tips for a Speedy Recovery

Things I remind my athletes..

  1. Active Recovery or low intensity exercise. Taking a hike or riding a bike can help increase blood flow to the muscles allowing for a faster and less painful recovery.
  2. Eating well. Don’t skip your meals after a hard workout. Try to get your first bits of protein post workout within 30 min.
  3. Drink water.
  4. Sleep. Get to bed at a decent time when training hard. I like to look at my sleep cycles and heart rate using my watch.
  5. No Judgment. Be mindful that your body just did something incredible even if your times fell short. Enjoy the process.
